The CGSC-T™ or Cyber Security Technician

The purpose of this track is to introduce the student to all aspects of information systems security from the entry level normally associated with basic and primary technical computer skills.

Pre-requisites: Must hold a High School diploma or GED, be enrolled in any accredited college or university offering an Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or Cyber-Security and have completed the introductory semester or quarter with us that introduces the student to "distance-learning" and "on-line education including the tutorial for our Learning Management System.

To earn the certification the candidate must complete the following EIGHT required Cyber-Guardian Courses, Modules, or CGSC™ Forums, and be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree (Information Technology or Cyber-Security) with any accredited college or university. These courses prepare you for certification in these areas but add significant depth and breadth in the field and study of Cyber-Security.

1.   A+ from CompTIA
2.   Network+ from CompTIA
3.   Security+ from CompTIA
4.   Microsoft Windows 7.0 (70-680)
5.   Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Administration (70-685 or 70-686)
6.   Cisco CCENT/CCNA
7.   IC-EEC Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
8.   ISACA Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)

Once the student completes their IT vendor certification exams, the candidate then must complete the CGSC-T™ Professional Exam, which is comprised of:  (1) one-day of oral examination, (2) one-day of written-comprehensive exam, and (3) one-day of lab-based verification and troubleshooting.


"Grand Fathering"

We recognize that many individuals will already hold some or all of the required certifications for the CGSC-T™ certification. Those who do may apply for advanced status through our "grand-fathering" program.

For the CGSC-T™ the candidate must (1) hold the required certifications and have five-years of verifiable field experience. Field experience may include internships, externships, military service or professional employment.  All candidates pay a "Grand-Fathering" fee of $1000.
