The ITS3 Cyber-Guardian Certified Professional:

It is very simple. There just aren't enough "true experts" in the field, and jobs (even in a depressed economy) remain unfilled. The point is this — it takes time and patience to develop the "I can do it skills" employers want, crave, and require. So, we intend to do something about it.

As the ITS3 Cyber-Guardian™ Corps develops, our graduates will be available for direct hire to employers or they may be retained as ITS3 sub-contractors for assignments in Project Management, IS/IT Auditors, Data Center Operations and Management, Network Security Analysts, Network Migration Specialists, and other DoD 8570.1 compliant assignments.

The rule of the marketplace is to always give the customer what they want. As we have mentioned earlier in our site, employers want three or four things from job candidates in the IS/IT field and especially in the cyber-security theatre.

And here is what the "market" wants:

•  A Bachelor's or a Master's Degree in Cyber-Security Information Systems
•  IT Certifications that demonstrate your knowledge of current technologies
•  Actual "field" experience or qualifying job internship or externships
•  Vendor-neutral "skill verification" from a peer-reviewed mentor-tutor-colleague

All of these combined and integrated together help the decision maker to have enough information and confidence in you to make you a job offer. But, don't take our word at it.  According to the US News & World Report (March 2010, p.16) -

"The real payoff goes to people with an ever expanding set of skills who work in growing and complex fields. The highest earners are well educated, but they also have strong "tacit" and "cognitive" skills that are difficult to teach in a classroom: informed intuition, judgment under pressure, the ability to solve problems that don't have an obvious solution. Those tend to come with experience, but top earners also go to the trouble to keep up with latest technology-no matter how exhausting- and use it to solve bedeviling problems."

If that is you, then we want to hear from you - so give us a call and let's talk!

The Cyber-Guardian Professional Exams

The heart of our program is preparing for the CGSC™ Professional Exam process.  It is the one aspect of our process that no one else duplicates and no one else offers.  While other standard IT multiple choice vendor exams are good and have their place, there is always the nagging issue of being just "paper-certified."  Employers want more than just passing these standard exams as a criteria for employment. They want to have assurance that the job candidate is truly prepared.  Usually job experience does this, but there must also be a way to offer more than job experience, to move above and beyond normal expectations.

The IT education and training marketplace has really struggled with this issue.  The core problem is how can any national standard be developed that will be accepted as a new "norm" for the profession?  We recognized this at the onset of the CGSC™ program development and after hours and hours of research and study arrived at the conclusion that the only way to do this was to do something no one else had ever attempted.
